Today is National Day, which is celebrated every year in honor of the founding of the People's Republic of China. I decided last minute to attend the fireworks which are set off over Victoria Harbour. The fireworks only lasted twenty-three minutes, so they were really short. They were nothing special, but it was cool to see them over the water.
On a different note, I am planning on changing the date of my flight back home from December 23rd to early December. If I do this, I will still have three final papers to write once back home in the US but I can submit all of them online so I wouldn't have to be in Hong Kong to do so. My last day of classes is November 30th, and most of my final exams are during the last week of classes. Only one of my final exams lies outside of the last week of November, and I have already talked to the professor about other accommodations so that I can come home early.
I do enjoy being here in Hong Kong, but I know that I will be more than ready to come home in December after being away for three and a half months. Plus, Christmas time is my favorite season/holiday so I want to maximize my time to celebrate/prepare for Christmas!
(also, my back is really wanting to go home to my comfy bed).
If this is the case, I'll be home in about two months from today! October should pass by quickly as I have two weeks of classes, then a week of traveling for reading week and when I come back I will have one week of classes in October left. November will be a crazy busy, hectic and stressful month, as almost all of my assignments are due all at once. I know that once the changed return flight is booked my mom will be excited that she can change her countdown app, and three weeks will instantly melt away. See you all in two months (hopefully)!!
