The first photo is a picture of a dragon fruit. Today after my classes, as I was walking to the MTR, I spotted a fresh fruit booth in the middle of HKU. I stopped to look at the fruit and the man selling the fruit gave me a slice of orange, which was very juicy. Besides the pieces of fruit, he was also selling dragon fruit and watermelon drinks. He would cut off the top of either and then use a power drill with a curly end attached to mash up all the fruit. I bought the dragon fruit because I had never tried it before, and it looked so pretty. The natural color of the fruit is so amazing it almost doesn't look real.
Today is finally the day that I am flying to Thailand! I had two classes this morning and then my flight was at 7:50pm, from Hong Kong International Airport. The flight was only about 2.5 hours long, so not too bad. Also, Bangkok is in a different time zone, so we gained an extra hour (Thailand is 11 hours ahead of EST, compared to Hong Kong's 12 hours).
Unfortunately, the King died today, who was the longest reigning King in the world. He was in power from age 18-88. Our host let us know that the people were unprepared for his death, and that there will be many cancellations of celebrations. We will see what happens tomorrow...
